Today we present you the profiles of the European Indoor Champions in the 1500m. Laura Muir from Great Britain was the best at this distance, while Marcin Lewandowski won in men's final. Feel free to meet them closer and read the article!

Laura Muir is 27-year-old athlete, born in Inverness, Scotland. Her first international debut was in 2011 at the European Cross Country Championships. Since 2017 she's the queen of middle distance runs in Europe. At the European Indoor Championships in Belgrade she took two gold medals by winning the 1500m and 3000m. One year later, at the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham, she was second in the 1500m final and finished third in the 3000m final. Muir became the European Champion in the 1500m in Berlin. The series of successes was being continued during the European Indoor Championships in Glasgow. Muir got the double win in the 1500m and 3000m. This year she competed in two indoor meetings in Glasgow at 800m and 1000m.

Muir's indoor personal best in the 1500m is 4:02.39, set on 4 March 2017 in Belgrade at the European Indoor Championships.

Marcin Lewandowski is 33-year-old athlete, born in Szczecin. His first international debut was at the European Junior Championships in 2005 in Kauhttp://www.torun2021.pl/files/Marcin-Lewandowski.jpgnas, Lithuania. Lewandowski specialises in the 800m and 1500m. He achieved first success in the 800m at the European Championships in Barcelona 2010 with gold medal. One year later he was second at the European Indoor Championships in Paris. Another two medals in the 800m he won at the European Indoor Championships in Prague 2015 (gold) and European Championships in Amsterdam 2016 (silver). Then Lewandowski decided to run the 1500m. First gold medal in the 1500m he achieved at the European Indoor Championships in Belgrade 2017. Then he was second at the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham 2018 and the European Championships in Berlin 2018. Last year was good for Lewandowski, because he confirmed his domination in the 1500m at the European Indoor Championships in Glasgow with gold medal. What is more, he was third at the World Championships in Doha. In 2020 Lewandowski competed in five indoor meetings (three times in 800m, two times in 1500m).

Lewandowski's indoor personal best in the 1500m is 3:36.50, set on 6 February 2019 in Torun at the Orlen Copernicus Cup.
